Jourdan, aged 44, died Sunday after a lingering illness at St. Mary’s hospital where he had been a patient for one day. He was a resident on Lincoln Lake Rd., near Belding. Mr. Jourdan was born April 7, 1919 in Redford and was self-employed in the roofing and siding business. On July 25, 1914, he was married to the former Doris Clark. He was a member of the Belding DAV and an overseas veteran of World War II. Surviving besides his widow Doris, are three daughters, Mrs. Irvin (Patricia) Blair of El Cerito, Calif., Miss Kathleen Jourdan of El Cerito, Calif., Michelle at home; son sons, Jeffery, Steve, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Leah Jourdan of Grand Rapids; five sisters, Mrs. Morgan Wheat of Lowell, Mrs. Almond Calkins of Sparta, Mrs. Robert Shepard of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Robert Bost of Lowell, Mrs. Blain Felty of Grand Rapids; three brothers, Claude of Grattan, Eugene of Grand Rapids, James of Byron Center; two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Huffman Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph O. Johnson of the First Baptist church, Belding officiating. Burial was in Ashley cemetery.
