He was born onFebruary 9 1945 to Edna J.Patten and Robert E.Dutton.Bob was raised in grand Rapids by Edna and Eugene "Nick" Jourdan. Bob graduated from Grand Rapids Central High in 1963 He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam from 1965-1967. Bob married Kathryn "Kay" J. Tornga on January 25, 1969, and they were blessed with eight children. Later they were blessed with 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bob attended the Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music in 1982 and pastored several churches before retiring from North Plains Community Church of Ionia where he spent the last 16 years of his career. Besides his marriage and the birth of his children, Bob considered the best day of his life to be in August of 1974 when he accepted God's gift of salvation in Colorado Springs with Young Life Ministries. Bob was proud to be a Veteran of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion, Charles A.Conklin Post 28 in Grand Haven. He was thankful for the care and support he received as a veteran. Bob's interests included scripture reading, fish, birds, plants, and having family around. Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kay; his children, Cy (Michele) Jourdan of Wyoming, MI, Nick (Wendy)Jourdan of Coopersville, MI Renee Jourdan of Kentwood,MI.Grace (Wayne) Brandenburg of Muskegon,MI, Gary (Renee) Jourdan of Ionia, MI, Joshua (Jenna) Jourdan of Ionia,MI, Charity Jourdan of Grand Haven,MI and Jesse (Levi) Journey of Great Falls, MT; his 16 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and his sister Nikki (Brian) Chatel. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gary Eugene Jourdan. The Funeral service for Bob will take place at 11:00a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Harvest Bible Chapel, Grand Haven Campus (12900 US-31, Grand Haven,MI 49417). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
