A Palo resident, Vernon R. Judevine, 82, died at his home Wednesday morning of 
an apparent heart attack. He was born April 5, 1886 at Pipestone, Minn., the 
son of Danon and Mary Judevine and came to Ionia county at the age of four.

He attended the Palo school and Ferris Institute. For 35 years he taught school 
in the cooper country in Keweenaw county. He was principal of Palo school until 
his retirement in 1952.

He was married September 1913 at Eagle River to Nettie Livingston who survives. 
He was Ronald township clerk for 20 years and a life member of Palo Masonic 
lodge.

Besides his wife he leaves four daughters, Mrs. Harry Emelander of route 4, 
Mrs. Leon Collins of Traverse City, Mrs. Walter Lemmien of Augusta, Mrs. Roy 
Hartman, route one, Orleans; one son, Dana of Scotsdale, Ariz.; 13 
grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one brother, Frank J. Judevine of 
Ionia.

Masonic funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm at Stone-Kauffman funeral home 
in Ionia with Rev. Ralph Kline of Sheridan officiating. Interment will be at 
Palo cemetery.

Funeral services for Vernon R. Judevine who died Wednesday were Friday with 
Rev. Ralph Kline officiating. Masonic services were under the auspices of Palo 
lodge. Interment was at Palo cemetery.

Bearers were Patrick Collins, William Lemmien, Lawrence Tiejema, Ross 
Haverstick, Dannon Hannah and Terrence Beckhorn.

Attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. Leon Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick 
Collins and family of Traverse City; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lemmien and William 
Lemmien of Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hartman and Donald Hannah of Orleans; Mr. 
and Mrs. Dannon Judevine of Scottsdale, Arizona; Denise Judevine, Dana Judevine 
of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Tiejema, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Haverstick, of 
Saranac, Pvt. Danon Hannah of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Livingston 
of Flint; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Converse of Mt. Morris; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dadd of 
Newaygo and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Dicerson of Palo.
