Sentinel-Std. - Tuesday, July 30, 1946

Joe Kammers, sr., 87, died at his home on Route 3 Ionia early Tuesday morning 
after an illness of six years. He has been seriously ill for the past weeks.

He was born April 8, 1859, in Otisco township and has been a farmer all his 
life. He bought the Colton farm on M-21 west of Ionia and has lived there for 
the past 50 years, after farming in Keene township.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; and a son, Joseph Kammers, jr. of Ionia, 
seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Another son, Lawrence, died 
several years ago.

Funeral services will be held from SS. Peter and Paul church Thursday at 9 a.m. 
Prayer services will be held at the Myers funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. 
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery. 

Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:20 p.m.
