Kammers, 32, of Belding, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon at the Belding hospital soon after being taken ill while at work at Gibson’s at Greenville. He was born August 17, 1921, the son of Joseph and Mary Kammers, in Easton township. He was married to Crystal Peterman in Greenville in October 1946. He had lived all his life in Ionia prior to moving to Belding eight years ago. Surviving besides his wife, Crystal, are one daughter, Wanda, and one son, Allen, at home; his mother, Mrs. Mary Kammers, of Ionia, a twin brother, Paul, of Syracuse, N.Y., and three other brothers, John, of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., Lawrence and Philip of Ionia. He was a veteran of World War II and served four years in Italy. The body will be removed from the Hoffman funeral home to the family home at 509 Merrick street Tuesday afternoon. Rosary will be recited at the home Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. Requiem high mass will be sung Thursday morning at 10 o’clock by the Rev. Fr. Charles Steves at St. Joseph’s church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s cemetery and the V.F.W. will conduct the graveside services.
