Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Wed. July 15, 1992

IONIA- Clyde H. (Mose) Kanouse, 87 of Ionia, died on Monday at his hoe. He was 
born the son of Burton and Julia Dreger Kanouse, on December 25, 1904, in Ionia.

He was graduated from Ionia High School in 1923. He lived most of his life in 
Ionia except for living a few years in Lansing. He was employed for 23 years at 
General Motors in Lansing and was self-employed as a finish carpenter and 
builder until he retired in  1970. He was a life member of the Elk's Lodge.

He married Dorothy M. Wheeler in 1937, she survives.

He is also survived by three daughters, Christine Valentine and Julianne Burns 
of Ionia and Adel Hausserman of Muir; two sons, William of Treton and Charles 
of Ionia: ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren: and his sister Carrie 
Burns of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his brother William.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cook Funeral Home in Ionia, with 
the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.

Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gillson, Richard C Valentine, Terrence Hampshire 
Jr., Paul Burns, and Christopher and William C. Kanouse.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 
p.m.

A memorial  has been established for the Ionia Area Hospice, in care of the 
funeral home.
