Ionia Sentinel Standard, 29 Mar 1966

A lifetime resident of Ionia county, Mrs. Edna N. Kanouse, 82, died at her home,
551 Price street Monday afternoon following a lengthy illness.  She was born in
Orleans township, February 23, 1884, the daughter of Hiram and Eva Brown and in
1902 was married in Ionia to Earle W. Kanouse and lived her entire life in Ionia
county.

Surviving are her husband, Earle W.; five daughters, Mrs. Marie Olmstead of
Ionia, Mrs. Esther Olmstead of Orleans, Mrs. Gertrude Smalley of Evart, Mrs.
Agnes Spitler of Ionia and Mrs. Betty Laney of Oregon; two sons, Therman Kanouse
of Rockford and Harold of Orleans; 28 grandchildren; several
great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles A. Brown of Ionia and one sister, Mrs.
Mary Sleeth of Ohio.

Service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m., at Stone-Kauffman funeral home
with the Rev. James Kendall officiating.  Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
