Born January 13, 1947, son of the late Harold & Phyllis (Bogart) Kanouse in Ionia,MI. Harold was a 1966 graduate of Belding, High School. He was married October 30, 1976 to the former Sharon Stebbins in Orleans in the pasture where they were building a home. He was proud of the two homes they built ground up. He was a long time employee of Specialty Block in Ionia9later Consumer's Concrete). retired after 35 years as a truck driver. Harold & Sharon retired on Drummond Island Until recently moving back to Stanton last September. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, was an avid bowler & had a hobby farm with cattle & chickens. Harold & Sharon owned the Clifford Lake Store for eleven years. He loved his dogs & was blessed to have Banjo, Pokery & Bindi in his life. Survived by wife, Sharon, his children Lori(Vern) Willett, Lisa Paulson, Kristin (Jamie) Petersen, Tracy Miller, Nanci (Mike( Arnold & Michael Kanouse; grandchildren Cheyenne Jeffry, Ciarra Birman, Chelsey (Kye)Birman, Steven(Kendra) Arnold, Kokin (Sam) Arnold,David Willett, Christine Willett, Samuel (Aimee) Bannen, Scott Bannen, Kristyna (Michael)Dougherty and Victoria Petersen. Great-grandchildren; Brooklynn, Bryleigh, Scarlett, Matthew, Waylon, Finnegan, Layla, Rhett, and Riley; siblings, Margaret (Wayne) Babcock, Nancy (Larry) Stauffer, Teresa (William)Wright and Carolee Chaffins. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis and infant granddaughter,Sara. Celebration of life will be Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. Visitation will be between 10AM and time of the service. Committal prayers at Orleans Township Cemetery will follow at a later date.
