Wave, Thursday, July 14, 1965 Services Held for Guy H. Kantner Guy H. Kantner, 67, prominent farmer, Rte. 1, Woodland, passed away suddenly at his residence Friday morning. A native of Union City, Ind. he had been a resident of Woodland for 60 years. Mr. Kantner was a member of the South Woodland ;Church of the Brethren, Farm Bureau and had served on the board of education of the Woodland Consolidated Schools from 1935 to 1947. He was very active in church work, civic and community affairs. He married Bernice M. Moxon, June 2, 1923, at the home of her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Frank W. Moxon of Hastings. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Karl (Jean) Wellfare of Hastings, a son, Marvin of Woodland; five grandchildren and two brothers Russell of Mears, Mich. and Claude of Athens, Ohio. Funeral services were held Monday at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa at 1:30 with burial in the Woodland Memorial cemetery. Rev. Chas. Gibbs officiated.
