Karcher, 86, died at the home of his son, Rex Karcher, Route 2, Lake Odessa, at 10 p.m. Saturday, February 6, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 3, 1867 in Eaton county, the son of Daniel and Catherine Karcher. He was a retired farmer and had lived on the same farm in northwest Lake Odessa for the past 56 years. His wife, Gertrude, preceded him in death in 1939. He is survived by one son, Rex, of Lake Odessa; one daughter, Mrs. Clark (Rita) Sherman, Lake Odessa; three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Nelson of Nashville, Mrs. Will Mooney of Dearborn, Mrs. Helen Bird of Ann Arbor; one brother, Martin, of Pontiac; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Central Methodist church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens funeral chapel. Burial will be at Lakeside cemetery with the Rev.
