Besides her husband she leaves two children, Mrs. Roy Kincaid and Rex Karcher. The Karcher families are very highly respected families and have many friends. They are all members of the Central Methodist church where her funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, June 29, 1939 The funeral of Mrs. Henry Karcher was largely attended at the Methodist church Friday. The sermon was by the Rev. Charles E. Thies, Mrs. Thomas furnished music, the following friend and neighbors were pallbearers: Fred Berndt, Roy Lane, Wilbur Smith, Frank Batchelder, George Barker and Myrvil Stephens. Those from out of town who were in attendance at the funeral were: Mrs. Libby Mosey of Barryton, Mr. and Mrs. William Mooney of Dearborn, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Burd of Ann Arbor, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bever of Bryan, Ohio; Mrs. Jessie Bohner and daughter Marvel of Mt. Pelier, Ohio; Bert Bever of Edon, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. G. William Brummeler, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest G. York, and Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Carrothers, all of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hubbard of Saranac, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Moore of Detroit, Don Karcher of Freeport, Mrs. Louis Kuhtz and son Leon of Ionia, Fred Nelson of Nashville, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mason of Augusta, and Mrs. George White of Ionia. Phama Gertrude Bever, the daughter of William and Sarah Bever was born in Odessa township on December 19, 1868, and departed this life on June 21, 1939 at the home she had lived in nearly all her life, at the age of 70 years, six months and two days. In 1897 she was united in marriage to Henry Karcher, and to this union were born two children, Mrs. Reeta Kincaid of Lake Odessa, and Rex Karcher, who lives on an adjoining farm in Odessa township. Mrs. Karcher was converted early in life and joined the United Brethren church, later becoming a member of the Central Methodist church of Lake Odessa. She was a loving mother, wife, and a faithful Christian. She leaves to mourn the loss sustained, her husband, two children, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one brother, Alvin Bever of Lake Odessa, and other relatives and a large circle of friends.
