Karnatz, 29, of Ionia, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and ms. Paul Schipper, 632 North Jackson street Friday morning at 4:30 o'clock following an illness of several years. Mrs. Karnatz was born in Oberlin, Ohio, December 22, 1906 and came to Ionia with her parents when two years of age. In 1926 she was graduated from the Ionia high school after receiving her earlier schooling at the Lutheran school of Ionia. Following her graduation from high school she was employed in the office of the Hayes Body factory and the Fidelity corporation for three years. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church and the Walther league. Mrs. Karnatz was married to Edward J. Karnatz of Ionia, April 20, 1929 Their only child, Edward Paul Karnartz died September 17, 1934, at the age of five years. Mrs. Karnatz is survived by her husband and parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schipper, three sisters, Beulah, Ione and Velma, and one brother Victor P. Schipper. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the home and at 4:30 o'clock from the St. John Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. R.A. Rook will officiate. Interment will be at the Highland park cemetery. Those wishing to view the remains are asked to call the home, 632 North Jefferson street as the casket will not be open at the funeral services.
