Helen J. Karrar, 86, of Lake Odessa went to be with her Lord early Tuesday 
morning May 21, 2002.

She was born on March 21, 1916 in Castleton Township, to Shirley and Arlie 
(Aspinall) Slocum.  Helen was married to Vernon Karrar on Jan. 17, 1933.  
Together, Helen and Vernon farmed for many years.

She is survived by Vernon, her loving husband of 69 years; her children, 
Richard (Lorna) Karrar, Paul (Ann Marie) Karrar, Sharon (Ron) Miller and 
Stephen (Sherry) Karrar; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great, 
great-grandchildren; her brother, Garth (LaVona) Slocum; her sister, Dorothy 
Karrar; and many other loving relatives and friends.  Helen was preceded in 
death by her parents; and infant daughter, Beverly Karrar.

Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake 
Odessa.  The funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday at Koops Funeral 
Chapel.  Burial will be in Clarksville Cemetery.    Memorial contributions may 
be made to Grace Brethren Church.
