February 5, 2022 PHYLLIS JOANN KARRAR Phyllis Joann Karrar, age 75, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, left her earthly body and entered into the arms of her Heavenly father the early morning hours of February 21, 2022. Phyllis was born June 25, 1946, and grew up in the Sunfield area with her family. She did so many amazing and different things in her life! She was the only woman on the design team of the recorder head that made it possible for cassette tapes to be played, did a little street racing in her old Fairlane, went zip lining in Costa Rica and was the kind of person you have to love. She did everything all in and when she became a mother it was no different. Her entire focus was on being the best mom-then the best grandma, and then the best great grandma. We all feel she beyond succeeded! Not only was she the most amazing mom/grandma/great-grandma, she was a friend, coach, leader, a favorite teacher's aide (Everyone loved "Ms. Hyvarinen"), bible study partner, role model, fishing buddy and so much more to so many. She was a source of unconditional love and acceptance. She touched everyone that crossed her path with either her heart, wisdom or her humor. She fought so many "unbeatable' battles that she actually won. She was a fighter-an inspiration to never give up! Her Faith was her backbone. She gave her all until the Lord told her it was her time to rest. She will be missed dearly. She is survived by her children, Rick Hyvarinen, Stacey (Blaine) Cordell, Jody Hyvarinen (Patrick Yerby) and Cindy (Steve) Piercefield; grandchildren; Jacolby Cordell (Shalina Allen), Jonathan Barber (Keirsten Olufs), Jaelyn Cordell (Christian Fizia), Paxton Cordell, Cheyenne Piercefield, Temperance Piercefield, Finley Hyvarien, John Yervy, Jr; great-grandchildren: RaeLynn, Isabella and Kyro Barber and Katiri Joann Cordell. For those wishing to participate in a celebration of her life a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on March 26, 2022 at the Sunfield United Brethren Church with Pastor Darrel Bosworth officiating.
