KART LAKE ODESSA - Leo B. Kart, 64, of 1059 Emerson in Lake Odessa died July 15 at Pennock Hospital. Born in Lake Odessa, February 20, 1915, he was the son of Cloid and Esther Cooley Kart. He was a life-long resident of the Lake Odessa area and attended school there. A Veteran of World War II and a member of the Jackson Mutschler VFW post no. 4461, he was also a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Esther Kart of Lake Odessa, one sister, Mrs. Paul (Velma) Sargent of Belding, three nieces, several grand-nieces and nephews, and one uncle, LaVerne Cooley, also of lake Odessa. His father preceded him in death in 1941, and a brother, Arthur, passed away in 1929. Funeral services were held July 18 at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The Rev. James Hulett officiated and burial was in the Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made for the heart fund.
