ELZENA KART DIED TUESDAY

Mrs. Elzena Kart, 47, of Pine Lake, passed away Tuesday from injuries received 
in a two car accident early Sunday morning. She underwent surgery Sunday for 
removal of a ruptured spleen, suffered head injuries and a crushed chest. Her 
husband Robert also 47, driver of the car, suffered a possible back fracture but 
was reported in good condition at Leila hospital where the injured were taken. 
The driver of the other car was not seriously injured but the three passengers 
in his car were hospitalized. 

Bedford township police said the car driven by Kart was struck in the side by 
the other car, which failed to stop at a stop sign.

Mrs. Kart was released from the hospital a short time after his wife's death.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Robert Jr. and a daughter, Suzanne Kay, 
both at home; her mother, brother and sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 pm at the Hebble funeral home at 
Battle Creek with burial in the East cemetery, Hickory Corners.

Mrs. Kart was the daughter-in-law of Mrs. Myrtle Kart of Augusta, former local 
resident and Mrs. Kart is a cousin of Berwin and Harley Stadel, and a niece of 
Mrs. Maud Kart.
