SIDNEY KASPER 1939-2016
Sidney (Sipke) Kasper age 77, of Ionia passed away on May 25 in Ionia. He was born
on Feb. 20, 1939 in the Netherlands, the son of John and Hendrikje (Harkema) Kasper.

Sid married Marian Osenga on Feb. 20, 1959 in Portland, Michigan. they moved to
Ionia in 1967, where he and Marian established SID's Flower Shop. Sid was a member of St.
John's Lutheran Church in Ionia. Past member of Ionia chamber of Commerce and Ionia
Jaycees. He enjoyed raising exotic animals and birds.

Sid is survived by his wife, Marian Kasper; six sons, John (Deborah) Kasper of
Clare, MI, Ken (Lani) Kasper of Grand Rapids, MI, Mike (Donna) Kasper of Ionia, MI, Alan
(Fonda) Kasper of Ionia, MI, Kevin (Pauline) Kasper of Lyons, MI, and Matthew (Rebecca)
Kasper of Muir, MI; three brothers, Tom (Cindy) Kasper of Hudsonville, MI, Gerrits (Susan)
Kasper of Colorado, and Case (Lori) Kasper of Grand Haven, MI; four sisters, Lee Mulder of
Grand Rapids, MI, Sue (Ted) DeJong of Alto,MI, Corrie (Joop) Huizenga of South Dakota, and
Marianne (Charles) Postma of Hudsonville, MI; two sister-in-laws, Kay Kasper and
Doris Richardson; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Sid was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jan Kasper and Simon
Kasper.

Funeral services will be held at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor John Kasper
officiating.Interment Balcom Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8
p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial donation may be made to Ionia Area hospice or
