ARTHUR KASTNER 1943-2017
Arthur S. Kastner, 73, of Long Island, NY passed away on Jan. 21, 2017 at 
Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in new York city. Arty, as he was affectionately 
referred to was born in New York city on Sept. 27th 1943 to Philip and Anna 
Kastner. He graduated from Pace University and pursued a career with ABC 
Television, advertising, sales and publishing.

He married Joy Anne (Backer) in 1969 and she survives him along with two 
daughters, Leigh Stacy (Evan) Slobodow of Long Island and Amy Nicole (Ryan) 
Gregory of Ionia, Michigan.

In 2000 Arty was given the gift of life when the Pickel family of New York 
donated their son's heart. Arty's kind and gentle spirit lived on because of 
their generosity and the family will be forever grateful. "Pop Pop Arty" shared 
his love of life with his grandchildren, Jordan Perri, Aaron Myles, Miles Arthur 
and Jude Philip  who also survive him. Their visits to this favorite place, the 
Bronx Zoo and their mutual love of the family dogs provided life long memories. 
Arty was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Lee Howard, who passed away 
at eh age of 13 from Leukemia.

Burial services will be held in New York on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017.
