Leola Kauffman, age 75, of Lake Odessa ran into the arms of her Savior on 
Sunday morning, October 26, 2008.

Leola was born in Mt. Morris, on April 9, 1933 to Alfred and Blanche (Peck) 
Gage.

She was raised in Brimley where she graduated from Brimley High School. Leola 
was united in marriage to Virgil Kauffman on October 21, 1952.

Although Leola had struggled with multiple Sclerosis for over 47 years, she 
always overcame obstacles and her life was a triumph.

She had worked along side her husband with Mennonite Disaster Services for nine 
years, and had volunteered with International Aid for several years.

Leola is survived by her husband, Virgil, sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and 
Dorothy Kauffman, Darrel and Laurie Kauffman, Terry Kauffman, Ricky Kauffman 
and Missy Kauffman and Brian Kauffman; 10 grandchildren; sisters and brother, 
Delpha Johnson, Nelson and Margaret Gage, Hildia and Norman Ball, and Lovina 
and James Ferraro; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents sister and brother-in-law, Arvilla and 
Junior Goldade; and brother in law, Clarence Johnson.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29 at the Bowne Mennonite 
Church. Burial followed in Bowne Mennonite Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made 
to the Easton Mennonite Mission Board (for church buildings in Ethiopia), or to 
the Bowne Mennonite Church Building Fund.
