Lake Odessa Wave - December 21, 1978
           MRS. ANN L KAUFFMAN
   BALDWIN -- Mrs. Ann L. Kauffman, 77, of Baldwin formerly of Lake Odessa, died
Sunday evening at the 
Sheridan Community hospital.
   She was born October 26, 1901 in Shawano County, Wisconsin, the daughter of
William and Joan Harvey 
Montour.  She attended Westscott school in Shawano.
   In 1919 she married John Spencer who preceded her in death in 1928,  She married
Walter Kaufman August 
14, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1969.
   They operated "The Family" restaurant in Lake Odessa for seven years; "Home Cafe"
in Wilcox, Ariz. for 
four years and "The Manor House" in Stafford, Ariz. for ten years.
   She became a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints September 5, 1968 and was
a member of Relief 
Society and a teacher and chairman o Mutual Interest.
    Survivors include three sons, Eugene Spencer and Jack Spencer of Ionia; James
Spencer of Puerto Rico; 
one step-son, Donovan Kaufman of Lake Odessa; ten grandchildren; one
step-granddaughter; eleven great 
grandchildren and one brother, Arthur Montour of Shawn, Wis.
   Also surviving ae two half-sisters, Mrs. Rose Collins of Green Bay, Wis.; Mrs.
Evelyn Zweig of Appleton, 
Wis.; one half-brother, Sylvestor of Jamesville, Wis.
   Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel. 
Burial will be in Lakeside 
cemetery.
