              KAUFFMAN

Barbara Joyce Kauffman, 86 of Ionia died peacefully at home surrounded by her 
family on March 19, 2025. She was born in Detroit to Elva (Buxton)and Nicholas 
Constantine on July 25, 1938. After graduating from Ionia High School, she 
married Arthur L.Kauffman on June 15,1957. Art preceded her in death on October 
30, 2013. She was also preceded in death by  her parents, brother Charles 
Constantine, and sister Evelyn Frances (Fran) Preston, Bonnie Hampton and Tom 
Martin.

Barbara was a cashier at Meijers for many years and made many lasting 
friendships that she continued to cherish through the years. She enjoyed living 
on Prairie Creek surrounded by great neighbors, abundant wildlife and watching 
the fishermen, many whom often stopped by for a quick visit.Summers were her 
favorite season as she could sit on her front porch with family and friends that 
stopped by for an afternoon, or just a quick visit everyone was welcome.

Barb always felt that her greatest accomplishments were her children, and her 
greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
She delighted  in every part of their lives.

She leaves behind her children; Lori (Dave) Spaulding, Kelli (Tom) Stevenson, 
Connie (Dale) Hanses.Vance (Tracy) Kauffman, Grand-Children: Curt Spaulding, 
Staci (Ryan) Kramer, Kelsie (Rafael)Gosser, Nick (Lauren) Stevenson, Spenser 
(Paige)Sydow, Alex Hanses. Alexis (Josh) Burns, Alyssa (Brandon)Ferris, Alaynie 
Kauffman, Arianne (Tom) Goggins, Mariah (Devin) Cunningham, as well as 13 great-
grandchildren. Brothers,David (Mary) Martin, Joseph (Mary) Martin and many 
nieces and nephews and long-time neighbor and friend Bob Wizorek.

Visitation will be held in her honor on April 10th, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Corewell 
Health Hospice.
