Dr. Victor R. Kauffman, 65, died unexpectedly in his sleep early Monday 
morning in northern California where he had been vacationing for the past 
several years.

He was a graduate of Ionia high school and received his dental degree from 
University of Michigan, and had been in dental practice over 30 years. He 
practiced in Detroit for many years, three years in Ionia and after leaving 
Ionia, practiced at Charlotte until his retirement 10 or 12 years ago. 

Dr. Kauffman was born in Ionia county April 5, 1894, the son of Allen and 
Belle Kauffman.

He was a member of Ionia F&AM 36, Masonic lodge, and a veteran of World War 
I.

Surviving are a brother, W. Crawford Kauffman of Safford, Ariz.; one sister, 
Mrs. Elsie Carr of Kalamazoo and one niece and one nephew.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. from the Boynton funeral 
home by the Rev. Heath T. Goodwin. Interment will be at highland Park 
cemetery.

The body of Dr. Kauffman will arrive in Ionia Thursday.
