Thomas W. Kauffman, 47, of Alto, died at his home on Wednesday October 27.  He 
was born July 14, 1940 in Hastings, the son of Frank and Margerite (Allerding) 
Kauffman.  He graduated from Lowell High School in 1958, and attended Grace 
College, Embry Riddle Aeronautical School in Florida and LeTourneau College in 
Long View, Texas.

He married the former Inez Rich on August 10, 1963, in Redford; she survives 
him.

He is also survived by one son, Brent, who lives at home.  His parents, Frank 
and Margerite of Alto; two brothers, Hillis of Forest City, Ark., and Murray 
of Alto; and one sister, Virginia Smith of Alto, as well as several nieces, 
nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be on Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Koops Funeral Chapel, 
Clarksville.  The Rev. Michael Funderburg will officiate.  Burial will be in 
the Bowne Mennonite Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to LeTourneau College or 
Grace College Alumni Funds.  The family will be at the funeral home Thursday 
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
