Marie Kauffman aged 78, of Ionia passed away February 11, 2006 in Ionia.  She 
was born February 26, 1927 in Sunfield, MI the daughter of Vern and Vesta 
(Stair) Hummel.  She married Samuel Kauffman July 14, 1946.

Marie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Samuel Kauffman of Ionia; 
children Andrew and Thresa Kauffman of Ionia, Bernie and Diane Kauffman of 
Saranac, Terry and Connie Kauffman of Sheridan, Tom and Marcy Kauffman of 
Ionia, Cheryl Davis and fiance` Jeff Martz of Hastings, Robin and Jay Barnhart 
of Alto; sister Barb and Leo Dora of Ionia; seventeen grandchildren and 
fourteen grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one 
grandson Daniel Kauffman in 1996.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia 
with Rev. Kendall Harger officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. The 
family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 pm 
at the funeral home. Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution in 
Marie’s name to Ionia Area Hospice or Ionia Commission on Aging.
