Yolanda J. Kavanagh, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. She 
was born on January 5, 1931 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Will and Rose 
(Alicki) Benjamin.

Mrs. Kavanagh was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Portland for 58 
years, and belonged to the Resurrection Choir. Yolanda enjoyed traveling, 
spending winters in Zephyr Hills, Florida, playing the piano, crocheting and 
especially loved her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Rose Benjamin. Surviving are 
her husband of 58 years, Donald; 6 children, Dennis (Ruth) Kavanagh of 
Grandville, Denise (Cheryl Visscher) Kavanagh of Kentwood, Peggy (Hank) Moczul 
of Bellaire, Barbara Kavanagh of Durate, CA, William (Pam) Kavanagh of Portland 
and Michael (Lisa) Kavanagh of Grand Rapids; 5 grandchildren; 1 great 
grandchild on the way; sisters-in-law Alice (Bill) Piggott and Carol (Jack) 
Caroen; brother-in-law, Joe (Marie) Kavanagh.

The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, 
December 3, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with the Rev. Larry 
King, Pastor, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 
at Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland. A Rosary will be preyed at 3 p.m. and a 
Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday. On line condolences
