Keating, 60, of 4316 Balfour Drive, SE, who died Friday afternoon at Blodgett Memorial hospital following a heart attack. A former resident of Ionia. Mr. Keating was owner of a jewelry store in Grand Rapids, and was former board chairman of BPOE Lodge 48. He was born in Chicago and when a small boy moved to Ionia with his parents. He learned the watchmaker’s trade from Carl Bradner in Ionia. He returned to Chicago with his parents and later resided in Ionia in the early 1940s. He moved to Grand Rapids about 21 years ago. He was a member of Wealthy-Lake Drive Business Men’s association and was a life member of the Elks lodge. Surviving are his wife, Margaret, and two sisters, Mary Keating and Kathleen, both of Chicago. Burial will be Wednesday morning at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Chicago.
