Keefer, wife of Wm. Keefer, died at her home Wednesday, April 18, 1906, after an illness of one year. She was born at Harpers Ferry, Va., September 14, 1838, her parents being George and Mary Carbaugh. They moved to Ohio 3 years later and in 1855 came to Orange township, where deceased lived up to the time of her death, the trip being made in a wagon. Deceased was married to Wm. Keefer about the year 1861, to whom were born five children: Grant Keefer, Mrs. W.T. Naldrett of Ithaca, W.S. Keefer, Mrs. Wm. Knudson and Wilson Keefer, all of whom with the husband survive. The funeral was held at the home on Friday, being largely attended. Rev. Mr. Moore of the Disciple Church of Ionia officiated. The music was furnished by Mrs. Bradt, Mrs. Hawley, Mr. Balch and Mr. Hale with Miss Dena Hickok as accompanist. The pall-bearers were Grant Keefer, W.S. Keefer, Wilson Keefer and Wm. Knudson.
