Funeral services for Bessie Keefer, 60, who died Friday afternoon, July 13 at
about 4:45, were conducted at the LeValley church, Tuesday afternoon, July 17 at
2:30.  The Rev. J. Lawrence Ward officiated and interment was in the family lot
in the Keefer cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Boynton
funeral home.

Mrs. Keefer died as the result of a heart attack, while driving her car south on
Jackson street, Friday.

She was a member of the LeValley Methodist church and a member of the Farm
Bureau organization and was employed as a clerk in the Stevenson store in Ionia
for the past year and a half.  Previously, she was employed in Harriette’s
clothing store.

Active bearers were Sam Burman, Jack Haley, Marvin Lawless, Gordon Fitch, Victor
Keefer and Leo Leiter.  Honorary bearers were employees of Stevenson’s store. 
Friends and relatives attended from Ionia, Portland; Lansing, Muir, Lyons and
Haslett.
