 Excerpts from Grand Rapids Obituary

   Floyd J. Keefer

Ionia Farmer Floyd J. Keefer age 49, was killed outright & his wife & son  were 
injured late Tuesday night in an automobile collision on US31, near Portland.
His wife Bessie 47 in shock & son Wayne 19, with a skull fracture were taken to 
Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.
The Keefer car driven by son Wayne, collided head-on with a car driven by 
Kenneth Meeker, 24 of Muir & a companion, Verl Ferris, 21 of Lyons escaped with 
slight bruises.
The car in front of Keefer's car had sideswiped Meeker's auto & thrown his car 
into the path of Keefer's.
Floyd Keefer's body was taken to the Banfield Funeral Home in Portland.
