Keilen, 89, of Westphalia passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2007. He was born on December 14, 1917 in Ionia County, Michigan the son of Joseph and Mary (Fedewa) Keilen. Herb was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the St. Joseph Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a life-long farmer who enjoyed playing cards and his wife Jeanette's goodies. Herb is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette on May 6, 2007. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Walter Keilen, Dorothy Bower, Verena Huggett, Sr. Frances Keilen, Robert Keilen, Fr. Ernest Keilen S.V.D. and Mildred LaRowe; and son-in-law, John Voisinet. Surviving him are 4 daughters Ruth Voisinet of Laingsburg, Jane (Vic) Voisinet of Eagle, Patricia (Timothy) Jackson of St. Johns, and Donna (Robert) Besinger of St. Johns; 2 sons Thomas Keilen and Daniel (Kathy) Keilen both of Portland; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, Vincent Keilen of Lansing and Francis (Hilda) Keilen of St. Johns; sister, Anita Fitzpatrick of Ionia; sister-in-law, Evelyn Weiland of Westphalia; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Cecilio Reyna August 8 at St. Mary Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal followed at St. Mary Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Contributions may made to the charity of one's choice in Herb’s name.
