Burial was made in the Portland cemetery beside that of his wife, who passed away three years ago. Had he lived until Sunday he would have been 79 years old. He was born in Germany and shortly after his marriage came to America and settled three miles south of Pewamo. It was 20 years ago that he came to Portland. He is survived by eight daughters and one son. They are Mrs. Thomas Manning, Mrs. Ed. Sullivan and Misses Barbara and Margaret, all of Portland, and Joseph Keilson, who resides on the old homestead. Four daughters are convent living.
