Ionia Standard – Friday, 9 February 1906
Mrs. O. C. Keller died at her home in Cleveland, O., on Friday.  She had been 
in poor health for a year, and recently submitted to surgical operation.  Mrs. 
Keller was well known in Ionia as Miss Josie Schmoltz.  Her age was 38.  
Remains left Cleveland Sunday evening and arrived here at 11:56 Monday.  
Funeral service at residence of L. P. Schmoltz, West Main Street, on Tuesday 
afternoon.  Interment in Schmoltz mausoleum, Highland Park.

The remains of Mrs. Otto C. Keller (nee Josie Schmolz) arrived in Ionia on mid-
day train Monday from Cleveland, to be placed in the Schmoltz mausoleum in 
Highland Park.  They were accompanied by the grief-stricken mother, who was at 
the bedside of her daughter in her last hours, a brother, Frank E. Schmoltz, 
the bereaved husband, and Mrs. F. Howard, a sister of Mr. Keller.  The remains 
were taken to the home of Louis P. Schmolz, on West Main Street, where friends 
viewed them from 7 to 8 that evening and from 109 to 12 Tuesday.  Funeral 
service at this home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
