Kelley Chas P. Kelley of Portland died quite suddenly Saturday, heart failure being the immediate cause o death. Mr. and Mrs. Kelley were residents of Sebewa until a few weeks ago when they moved to Portland. Mr. Kelley had been in poor health for some time, which made it necessary for him to quit farming. Mr. Kelley was born on a farm near Portland, Ionia County, July 10, 1850. Before he was married he made a trip to California and later to New York, but after his marriage he settled on a farm in Sebewa and remained a resident until he moved to Portland a few weeks ago. He was married to Miss. Elsie VanHouten 43 years ago. She survives him as do two daughters, Mrs. W. F. Alberts, of McBride, and Mrs. Roy Dawdy of Portland. Mrs. C. A. Estep of Portland and Mrs. Lora Olry, of Sebewa are sisters. Funeral services were held at Portland Tuesday conducted by Rev. H. W. Ellinger of this village assisted by Rev. McGregor.
