Smith, in Danby. He died Wednesday morning, not being able to survive an operation for an affection of the intestines. Deceased was but 23 years of age and was married last October. He had always enjoyed good health up to a few weeks ago, when he became afflicted with rheumatism and stomach trouble. Funeral services were held on Thursday last and burial made in Danby cemetery. He was a fine young man. He was a son of Charles Kelley of Danby, who has had more than his share of affliction, he having buried his wife a few weeks ago. Deceased was a member of the Maccabee lodge of Portland in which order he carried at $2000 certificate. A number of the members of the order were present at the funeral which was largely attended.
