Ionia Daily Sentinel - 18  February 1907
The funeral for James Kelly was attended from the residence Sunday afternoon, at 
Prairie Creek.   Rev.W. I. Cogshall, of the Methodist church, officiated.  Mrs. 
Eugene Smith and Mrs. Will  Peer sang.  The house was filled with relatives and 
friends, and William H. Borden post, No. 211,  G. A. R., attended in a body, under 
command of Gen. Hutchinson  The  post furnished the pall bearers,  W. L. 
Carpenter,  Jacob Bessy,  John Roberts,  A. Lon Willard, E. S. Shattuck and J.  B. 
Snyder.  The officer in charge of the bearers was James Laden.  Fifteen rural  and 
city mail carriers and as many of  the relief corps were also  present.Mr. Kelly 
had long been failing and was a cripple.  The interment was in Highland Park.
