He was born near Queenstown, Ireland, March 20, 1795, and came to America in 1828. He lived in Vermont and New York until 1836, when he came to Michigan with Geo. W. Dickinson and settled in the township of Otisco, Ionia county, near Kiddville. The country was then a wilderness, the only two white men then in that township being Daniel and Nathaniel Horton. He lived on the farm he then located until the death of his wife 13 years ago. Since then he has lived with his son until his death.
