The Portland Observer, Wednesday, May 8, 1901


Word was received at Muir last week that Joseph Kelly, a former resident of 
that village, had died in a hospital at Dawson City.  He had been in the 
Klondike country three years but had missed connection on a gold strike.  His 
widow is left penniless with two children.
