Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Thursday, Feb. 5, 1880

A little three-year-old girl of Fred Kemp of Hubbardston while playing about 
the room recently, swallowed a screw nail which she had in her mouth, and died 
from the effects of it within ten minutes after it occurred. It is supposed 
that the screw must have lodged in some of the air passages leading to the 
lungs, as the poor child expired before medical aid could be summoned. -
