Funeral services will be conducted at the Bradley funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2:30. those wishing to view the remains may call at the Bradley funeral home. Burial will be in the Highland Park cemetery. Mr. Kench was a native of England. He was married in 1870 to Hannah Atkinson in St. Luke’s church, London, Eng., and came to the United States in 1882, having at that time three children, Frank, Thomas and Charles. They located in Indiana, but moved to Michigan a few years later, and have lived in this locality since. He was a gardener by profession, and continued in this work after his arrival here. He worked for a time under Medical Superintendent Grant while the Ionia hospital was on this side of the river, and had also been employed as a gardener at the institution in recent years. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Mrs. Kench survives. Of their 10 children, but five are living. These are: Frank, of Ashley; Charles, of Ionia; Albert, Horace and Mrs. Bessie Park, of Lansing. Subsequent Publication: Monday, February 6, 1933 Dr. M. W. Duffey, with Rev. A. T. Luther assisting, conducted the funeral services Sunday afternoon for James Kench, South Ionia, at the Bradley home, where the body has reposed since his death Thursday afternoon. Burial was in the Highland Park cemetery. “Face to Face,” and Abide With Me” were the selections sung by Chandler Haight, Mrs. Lillian Ashdown Jennings, accompanying him on the piano. There were a large number of friends joining the relatives for the services, and relatives, Clarence Parr, Buster Parr, Charles Kench, Jr., and Gerald Coates, and Sidney Munn and H. J.
