Before entering the convalescent home she made her home for seven years with her son, Frank, of Ashley. She and her husband, James, lived in South Ionia for many years. She was born Jan. 10, 1853, in London, England, and was married in 1870 in London. They came to the United States in 1882 and lived in Indiana for a few years before moving to Michigan. They spent all the rest of their life in Michigan, mostly in and near Ionia, except for a year in Wisconsin. Mr. Kench died in 1933. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Ionia for many years. Surviving are four sons, Charles of Ionia, Albert of Lansing, Frank of Ashley and Horace of Ithaca; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Bradley funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Dr. Howard A. Smith will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot, Highland Park cemetery.
