Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard - April 23, 1958


Mrs. Alice Kendall, 82, of Route 1, Muir, apparently died in her sleep Tuesday 
night. She was found dead in her bed Wednesday morning at the home of her 
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kimball, with whom she lived.

Born March 24, 1876 in North Plains township – she was the daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. Oscar Knight. She lived in North Plains township all her life. For 10 
years Mrs. Kendall taught school in Ionia county. She was married to Felton 
Kendall September 10, 1902. Mr. Kendall died in February of 1941. Mrs. Kendall 
was a member of the Muir Presbyterian church.

Surviving besides the daughter Mrs. Ralph Kimball, are four grandchildren and 
two great-grandchildren. A son, Edward, died in 1947.

The Rev. Lewis Herrick, pastor of thte Muir Presbyterian church will officate 
at the funeral service. Funeral arrangements are being made by Shaw-Rivett 
funeral home. Time and place of the service will be announced later.
