April 27, 1912 PALO The community was saddened last week by the death of Frank Kendall, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kendall, of Ronald. He was nearly eighteen years old and was one of Ronald's most promising young men. His death was due to pneumonia. The funeral services were held Saturday from the Baptist church. Rev. J.B. McGinnes officiating in the absence of Rev. Buffum. The boys Sunday school class under the superintendency of Philip Markle of which he was a member, attended in a body, and the remains were tenderly laid to rest by young men, friends of the deceased. They were James Hargrave, Willard Knaggs, Bert Martin, Wilbur Youngs, Don Waldron and Orson Nielson. In the passing of Frank Kendall, a young man of the highest moral excellence, Ronald loses a citizen who, had he lived to carry out the standard of principles so well marked in his character must have been an inspiration to all with whom he came in contact. He leaves to mourn his loss a father, mother, five brothers and two sisters besides other relates and many friends. Additional Comments: Burial in Palo cemetery. Daily Sentinel, April 19, 1912: Frank Kendall, 18 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kendall, Ronald, died at 7 o'clock Thursday evening after an illness of three weeks. His death was caused by an attack of pneumonia. One of the bright and promising young men of the township, his demise is cause for unusual regret and sorrow among not only relatives but hosts of friends of the family. Frank Kendall was born in Ronald and a graduate of the Palo high school. He had made the most of life, and was always at the fore in business and social circles. He belonged to the Ronald Dramatic club, and was one of the leading ones among those who acted the parts in the many dramas that they have put on. He was in the cast of the last play presented, and is a distinct loss to the society. His mother, Mrs. Fred Kendall is reported critically.
