He was born in 1868, in the same vicinity he had spent his entire life. He possessed the sterling qualities of a true citizen, always active in the public and home affairs of the community. He was a member of the Muir Presbyterian church since a young man serving as elder for many years. Also a member of the Lyons F. & A. M. He leaves his widow, Alice, and a son Edward, who has taught in Honolulu T. H. for many years; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Kimball, who with her family moved here from Detroit to be near her parents; four grandchildren, and a sister, Ms. Frances Gardner, of Muir. The funeral service will be held at the home Friday afternoon at two o'clock Eastern Standard time. Rev. Adam Westmaas of Ionia, will conduct the service.
