Ionia Sentinel Standard, 25 Feb 1978

Julia L. Kennedy, 91, formerly of 246 East Main street, died early Friday 
morning at Belding Christian nursing home.

She was born February 21, 1887 in Palo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cassius 
VanVleck.  She was a former member of the Palo church and First Baptist church 
in Ionia.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Harvey Staines of Battle Creek; two 
brothers, Frank VanVleck of the Belding Christian nursing home; Peter VanVleck 
of Ionia; two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday at 2 p.m. from the Myers-Roetman funeral home with burial 
in Palo cemetery.  A memorial fund is established for the First Baptist church 
Sunday school class.
