Ionia County News, 23 Apr 1942

Alfonse Kennedy, 72, died at his home, 1264 Cass Ave., S.E., Grand Rapids, 
Monday night, April 21.  Death was caused by a heart condition from which he 
has suffered for some time.  Mr. Kennedy was born in Ionia but had lived in 
Grand Rapids for the past 30 years.

Surviving are his widow, Addie; three daughters, Mrs. Philip Pittenger and Mrs. 
Earl Saurman of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Walter MacMillan of Petoskey; four sisters, 
Mrs. Thomas Bolen of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Ernest Hunter of Los Angeles, Calif., 
Mrs. Nellie Frost and Miss Celia Kennedy of Ionia; two brothers, Joseph Kennedy 
of Ionia, Thomas Kennedy of Alpena, and eight grandchildren.  Funeral services 
will be held Thursday at 2:30 at Greenhoe’s Chapel.  Committal Services at Rest 
Lawn Memorial Park.
