Dale lost a year long battle with leukemia. He was born March 13, 1940, in Belding, the son of Michael and Amy Lynch Kennedy. For many years, Dale was a supervisor at Indian Summer in Belding. He later worked at Federal-Mogul, Rayborn Hardware and retired from Belco Industries. Dale was past president of the Driftbusters Snowmobile Club and had coached for many years in the Little, Rookie and Pony League baseball programs in Belding. In his earlier years he enjoyed motorcycling, bowling and was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was married Dec. 12, 1959, in Belding to Patricia Raby. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael and Thomas; sisters, Marjory Rhodes, Dorothy McMeeken; brother-in-law, George Rhodes; niece, Ginger Swain; and father-in-law, Samuel Raby. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; their children, Sheryl Kennedy, Dennis Kennedy, Donald Kennedy, Amy Kennedy, all of Belding; grandchildren, Dustin Kennedy and Krystal Kennedy of Belding, Patrick Kennedy and Taylor Kennedy of Arlington, Texas; brother and sister, John and Connie Kennedy, Ruth Rhodes, all of Belding; mother-in-law, Pauline (Raby) and Richard Denton of Florida. brothers-in-law, Dusty Rhodes of Belding, John McMeeken; sisters-in-law and their spouses, Bev and Gordon Young of Belding, Donna and Dan Hannah of Ionia, LeeAnn and Luke White of Belding; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding, with Father CK officiating. Interment will follow in Greene Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to Ionia Area Hospice or the Leukemia Foundation of America.
