Kennedy, 50, of Orleans, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 11, 2006, at his home. Jack was born June 18, 1955, to Harold and Mary Krasulah Kennedy in Grand Rapids, and attended the Grand Rapids area schools. He graduated from Kellogsville High School with the class of 1974. On July 24, 1994, Jack married the love of his life, Cynthia Anne Sakom, and became a step-father to Joshua, Aaron and Andrew. Jack was employed by Wolohan Lumber for more than 25 years and was most recently employed by Standard Lumber. He enjoyed many hobbies including watching TV, camping and fishing with his kids, spending time with his dogs, working outside in his flower gardens and on his house. To know him was to love him, beloved husband, father, friend to everyone, everything Jack was – loving, caring, true, loyal, honest, sincere, unselfish, funny, all-around greatest guy anyone could know. Jack E. Pooh was our man. To make him blush made our day. To make us laugh made his day. To help someone out was his way. Always thinking of others first and himself last. He was our best bud, best friend, best co-worker, best of everything. We are all so proud to have known him. He touched all our lives in a unique, special way, and he was loved and will be missed more than he could ever know. Thanks for the memories, Jack, Jackson, Jackie Pooh, Stub. You will never be forgotten. Much love always your friends and family. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two nieces, Shannon and Heather; and one brother-in-law, Mark. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; children, Joshua McBride, Aaron McBride, both of Ionia, Andrew McMillan of Grand rapids; three brothers, John Robert, Kurt Simmons (who was not just a brother, but a special friend); and mother, Donna, in honorarium. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Huffman-Brigham Funeral Chapel, Belding. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the family for expenses.
