Georgia J. Kennedy, 67, of Byron passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 
Prestige Pines in Dewitt.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 at Watkins 
Brothers Funeral Home, Durand Chapel with Pastor William Bramlet officiating.

Georgia was born on Sept. 26, 1944 in Greenville, the daughter of Edward and L. 
Georgia (Hatinger) Smith. She graduated from Ionia High School and Mott Junior 
College where she received her nursing degree. On Sept. 14, 1963 she married 
James Kennedy in Ionia. Georgia was retired from Genesys Health Systems where 
she was a Registered Nurse.

She is survived by her husband, James; son, Michael (Kimberly) Kennedy of 
Byron; stepdaughter, Sheryl (Michael) McLenithan of Ionia; grandchildren, 
Gordon, Elizabeth, Ashley, Lauren, Taylor, Hunter, Mckayla and Kristi; great-
grandchild Alaska; brother, Bruce (Marty) Smith of Ames, Iowa; and sister, 
Gloria (David) Cook of Ionia.

She was predeceased by her son Patrick in 1995. Memorials can be made to the
