KENNEDY IONIA - Rose L. Kennedy, 80, formerly of 650 1/2 West main, died Saturday evening at Ionia Manor where she was a patient for one year. She was born in Keswick, England, November 8, 1897, the daughter of John and Sarah Smith Brown. She came to Ionia as a young girl and attended schools in Ionia, marrying Harry Kennedy January, 23, 1917 in SS Peter and Paul church. Mr. Kennedy preceded her in death in January, 1966. Mrs. Kennedy lived all her life in Ionia and worked for many years for Mike Terkos in a Main street restaurant and several years at the Ionia Elks. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul church and the Antlerettes. Survivors include two daughter's, Mrs. Wayne (Virginia) Snyder of Belding and Mrs. Lawrence (Marilyn) Gilbert of Battle Creek; one sister, Mrs. William (Betty) Droste of Ionia; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral mass is Wednesday at 1 am from SS Peter and Paul church with Rev. Father Henry Dondzila officiating. Burial in Mt.Olivet cemetery. Rosary will be recited at theLeddick funeral home Tuesday at 7 pm. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Monday, 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
