She suffered a fractured hip some time ago and had never completely recovered. Mrs. Kennedy was born October 26, 1862 in Eagle township, Clinton county and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Higbee. A school teacher for ten years, she spent most of her life around Six Lakes in Montcalm county. July 10, 1899 she was married to Willard Kennedy and the couple lived on a farm south of the village of Orleans. He died a number of years ago as did a son, Ivan Kennedy. Surviving is a son, Myron Kennedy, who has been running the farm. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the Orleans church and it organizations, a member of the Ancient Order of the Charter Leaders and a charter member of the Ladies’ Literary and Art club of Orleans. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Orleans church. Burial will be in the family lot in Orleans cemetery.
